I’m staring into eyes staring back,
oceans that reflect identical sorrow and pain,
tears swallowed and screams hushed,
hands pressing back and forth.
She laughs at the crooked lines,
knows every secret and sin never admitted,
mimics every movement made in tandem,
raising the blade and watching it fall.
She is me, or am I her?
our stories the same yet so different,
a reality beyond borders and one confined,
still reflecting the same misery.
Tonight I will face her no more,
smash into her mocking face,
watch the blood travel down her laughing face,
know the pain she feels is shared by me.
